It is vata and pitta reducing. It has a toning effect on muscles of the bladder, thus enhancing the capacity to retain urine. It is also Stambhan, which means it increases capacity to hold the fluids in the bladder. Also reduces inflammation anywhere in the body; eliminates blocks that prevent vata’s circulation in the lymph and blood; reduces aam and obstructions created by aam. Acts particularly on any problem from the navel downwards balancing all three doshas; gives strength, rejuvenates and maintains circulation. Reduces inflammation and edema in the body (veins, capillaries and hollow organs). Diuretic in nature reduces Vata and helps reduce pain caused by vitiated vata; rectifies uterine function, removes bulkiness in the uterus, helpful in treating pain and inflammation in the urinary system; rejuvenates the dhatus thus improving memory, intellect, health, youth, enthusiasm and physical energy; improves the quality and quantity of blood and acts as a tonic reducing weakness. Increases perspiration and acts as an antipyretic, stimulates gastric enzymes and increases appetite, brings back apana Vata to its normal path and works on all illnesses due to problem of Apana.
